About Let’s Do CPR | Founded by a Nurse, Built on Experience

THE INSTRUCTOR

Meet Asumpter Warees – Founder, Nurse, CPR Instructor

At the heart of Let’s Do CPR is a deep commitment to lifesaving education and real-world experience. My name is Asumpter Warees, and I’m a registered nurse with years of experience caring for cardiac patients across multiple states. After working with thousands of patients, training new nurses, and raising a family, I launched Let’s Do CPR to bring expert-led CPR, BLS, AED, and First Aid certification classes to the Fayetteville, NC community.

A Lifelong Focus on Cardiac Care

My career began after four years at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing, where I earned my nursing degree. I took my first job at a Providence Heart Institute in Columbia, SC, where I cared for patients with serious heart conditions and developed a love for cardiac care.

Over the years, my husband’s career moved our family to several states, each offering new opportunities to expand my expertise:

  • In Georgia, I worked on the medical-surgical floor at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, primarily treating cardiac patients.

  • In Tennessee, I joined Germantown Medical Center, where I continued my focus on heart health.

Through these roles, I not only built deep cardiac knowledge, but also found joy in mentoring new nurses. Serving as a preceptor, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching lifesaving skills, especially those related to heart care.

Bringing Expertise to Fayetteville

Eventually, we relocated to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where I balanced nursing with raising my children. I transitioned into home health nursing, allowing me to continue working in the field while supporting my family full time.

When the home health agency I worked with moved out of state, I saw it as an opportunity — a way to blend my experience, my love of teaching, and my passion for community care. That’s when Let’s Do CPR was born.

Today, I teach American Heart Association (AHA)-certified classes in:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • CPR & AED

  • First Aid

  • Skills Evaluations for Online AHA Courses

I’m also proudly affiliated with Southern Regional Area Health Education Center (SR-AHEC) here in Fayetteville.

Why I Teach CPR

Every second counts in a cardiac emergency. After years in hospitals, I’ve seen firsthand how fast things can change — and how important it is to act quickly and correctly.

Teaching CPR and BLS allows me to take my experience out of the hospital and into the community, helping everyday people learn how to save lives. Whether you're a healthcare provider, teacher, parent, coach, or concerned citizen, I want you to feel confident being the first responder in an emergency.

“Asumpter made the class personal and powerful. You can tell she’s lived this work and cares deeply about teaching it.”

All of our classes follow the latest AHA guidelines and result in a two-year certification card. Classes are in-person, hands-on, and structured to ensure you walk away knowing how to:

  • Perform high-quality CPR

  • Use an AED

  • Recognize emergencies like strokes and heart attacks

  • Deliver First Aid for injuries and medical issues

Whether you're certifying for your job or preparing for your family’s safety, Let’s Do CPR provides real training — not just box-checking.
